The George Rogers Clark Color Guard is an award winning part of the GRC Band Program. These young women (and men!) are among the hardest working in Clark County. Their level of dedication, commitment, and perseverance is a model for all other student organizations. Auditions for the color guard take place in April/May. The High School guard is open to all GRC Students.
The guard rehearses May-July to prepare for our competition season, which runs from August-Early November. During the winter months, students will participate in clinics, monthly mini camps, and have the opportunity to audition for local winter guards, such as Lexis.
The Color Guard program is under the direction of Katie Griffith, and assisted by Robbie Reed, Elizabeth Harrison, and Katie Todd.
Note: All marching band members, including the color guard, receive a .5 Arts and Humanities Credit for each fall competition season. All students must have 1 full credit to graduate. 2 years of color guard satisfy this requirement! Guard students will also receive a PE Credit for Marching Band (Approved June 2017).
